Oxford Wood Recycling

Oxford Wood Recycling is a social enterprise providing an environmentally friendly alternative to a skip for producers of wood waste in Oxfordshire, West Buckinghamshire and most of Berkshire. We specialise in recovering reusable materials from the waste collected, which provide local DIYers and woodworking enthusiasts with a sustainable source of low cost timber. See the Wood Shop album to get an idea of the materials we can offer. For waste wood producers, we can provide you with a comprehensive waste audit detailing the destination of all of your waste, which you may be required to have to comply with recent legislation governing the disposal of waste. For wood users, we have an ever changing array of both ordinary and unusual materials. From raised beds to garden sheds, floorboards to firewood, bookshelves to storage boxes or workshops to wine racks. If you can make it from wood our low cost, high quality supplies are sure to fit the bill.

This one promises to be an eclectic post!

First up, a pile of stylish, enchanted silver birch poles. They were first used during a London fashion show, then had a second life recreating Narnia at the Oxford Story Museum and now await your inspiration for £3 each.

Also aboard are some gorgeous lengths of pitch pine panelling, all 1.8m strips for £2.50/m (£23.75/m²).

A boardroom table is not our usual fare. £50 ono as we're keen to clear it.
Just 3 beech bar stools, £20 each.

There are also two large but cupped beech desktop/worktops, lots of beech strips from dismantled furniture, some large bits of bamboo, a glazed hardwood door and lots of other treasures!

Call in to see more!

Formerly packing cases delivered to the Ashmolean museum, we now have a pile of assorted ply and timber panels that could have multiple uses.

The case bases would make a decent shed or playhouse foundation, whilst the panels look like ready made walls for your garden bar or allotment compost bins.

Delivery is available on all items pictured, but most of them cannot be cut to size.

Pop in to see if they float your boat or email info@owr.org.uk to order from home, and please make sure to include a phone number so we can contact you.

After a sun soaked shopping trip this morning we've got new stock of some fantastic hardwood slabs, including book-matched sets of yew and cedar of Lebanon, and fantastic wide boards of rippled ash, London plane and walnut.
Plus sycamore, elm, field maple and spalted birch have also been added to the stock this week.

Yesterday we also topped up the boxes of hardwood off-cuts, so from bench slats and stripy chopping boards to furniture repairs and carving blocks, we've got a great range of smaller pieces in a variety of species.

All the planks in this post are now available to view in store, or you can enquire about stock and sizes from your sofa by emailing info@owr.org.uk
