Oxford Wood Recycling

Oxford Wood Recycling is a social enterprise providing an environmentally friendly alternative to a skip for producers of wood waste in Oxfordshire, West Buckinghamshire and most of Berkshire. We specialise in recovering reusable materials from the waste collected, which provide local DIYers and woodworking enthusiasts with a sustainable source of low cost timber. See the Wood Shop album to get an idea of the materials we can offer. For waste wood producers, we can provide you with a comprehensive waste audit detailing the destination of all of your waste, which you may be required to have to comply with recent legislation governing the disposal of waste. For wood users, we have an ever changing array of both ordinary and unusual materials. From raised beds to garden sheds, floorboards to firewood, bookshelves to storage boxes or workshops to wine racks. If you can make it from wood our low cost, high quality supplies are sure to fit the bill.

Hello new hardwoods 👋 you're a beautiful bunch this week 😍

Old favourites such as oak, sycamore and sweet chestnut are in attendance, but we've also a guest appearance from two much rarer species, namely rippled English Walnut and Wild Service Tree.

The last on this list has our new carpenter Chris completely smitten. The rippled walnut has also been oiled and doesn't look too bad either!

We've had some gorgeous chunks of yew arrive in the shop this morning, along with some ash and one Cedar of Lebanon slab.
Also the oak bench-slat box has been refilled, and we've also got half a trolley load of 4"-8" wide planed oak off-cuts, some ¼ sawn into the bargain.

We've all sorts of new treats for you in our Aladdin's cave this week.

In the opening pic we have some amazingly wide planks of larch, which we've picked up from a musical instrument maker in Oxford.

Then you'll see an interesting selection of beech wood furniture feet, yours for just £8 per set of 4.

Lastly we have a 'last few remaining' of some afrormosia specimen drawers that we collected last year from the Oxford Natural History museum!

All these and more are currently on display in our store, so make tracks in this direction if you'd like to check them out!

You can also contact the shop by calling 01235 861228 (option 2) and we'll do our best to answer any questions.

Watt 4
So a little while back we all got together to film a new promo video for the band at Oxford Wood Recycling on possibly the hottest day this year! ☀️ We're also really excited to share with you that next Friday (the 31st) we will be performing an online gig from Oxford Wood Recycling to help promote the great work which they're doing. We will share more information on the event in the coming days but you'll be able to stream our set from the Oxford Wood Recycling Facebook page next Friday from 6pm. We've been really looking forward to sharing this with you and will hopefully be getting back to gigging in the near future! Thanks to Elliott Goggins for putting the video together. 🎥
