Live Edge Planks

To create a truly unique item from timber choose the natural beauty and character of live edge planks. With our ever changing range of live edge planking you can be sure that each piece will combine the beauty of British grown hardwood with the natural shape of the raw live edge of the tree. Whether you are sourcing an original worktop for a washbasin, making a coffee table or a mantelpiece, a bookcase or a garden bench, if you make it with our live edge hardwood you will be creating something that will last for generations.

Live Edge Planks

We are delighted to be able to offer customers live edge timber in a wide range of hardwoods and a huge selection of sizes. Our resident hardwood hunter is often out scouring the countryside for the best pieces of sustainably sourced British hardwood. We also have regular supplies of smaller hardwood off-cuts suitable for woodturning, carving and making chopping boards.

All of the live edge planking we supply is from trees that have been grown and sourced locally in the UK. Live edge planks are cut down the length of the tree on a band saw leaving the bark on the outer edge. This means that each plank is different and often unusually shaped. You will find unusual species here at Oxford Wood Recycling as well as our favourites such as Oak, Ash, Cherry, Sweet Chestnut, Elm, Walnut, Sycamore, London Plane and Yew. Each will lend their own character and different grain to the live edge planks.

If you need a particular size of plank our wider boards can be cut down to size. Our team can also quote for sanding and oiling any timber to help you get your project underway. With new stocks of live edge planks arriving every 3-5 weeks you’ll always have plenty to choose from. To see what’s in stock visit us or follow us on Facebook to see the latest stock updates.
