Giving young people a ‘Kickstart’ into long term, sustainable work
Announced in July 2020 as part of the Plan for Jobs, the Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create high quality 6-month job placements for young people aimed at those aged 16-24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long-term unemployment. It gives young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace, and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long-term, sustainable work.
We are delighted to be appointed as an employer in the Kickstart scheme and are currently recruiting for a Wood Recycling Trainee to join us at Oxford Wood Recycling.
If you are practical, hands on, responsible and enjoy working as part of a team then this could be the position for you. You need to be reliable and able to follow safety instructions to do this job. There are no fixed qualifications required but we hope that you share our enthusiasm for working with wood and helping the environment, and you are happy to be outside in all weathers.
If you enjoy doing things as part of a team or independently (after training), and are willing to work hard at all aspects of the job then this could be for you. Contact your Job Coach at the Job Centre to apply.
