Like many during the lockdown, we saw the opportunity to get creative and put our handy work to good use. The workshop here at our base in Abingdon has been getting some attention across the past few months and whilst it is still under construction, we’ve got an exciting update we wanted to share with you all.
As some of our readers will know, working with wood requires a huge amount of skill and is a true craft. To help us produce the highest standard of repurposed furniture out of our recycled wood, we’ve recently installed a new planer. The backbone of it is now commissioned and working will, with it processing hardwoods for sale in the shop as well as being used to make furniture.
Alongside the planer, we’ve recently acquired new hand-held power tools to assist with production here at Oxford Wood Recycling. The new bits of kit are being put to use for a variety of products, but one that is currently in production is the table which is pictured above.
We’re sure once it’s finished, the repurposed table will see many years of good use with families and friends gathered around after COVID-19 restrictions ease.
For now, that’s all of the updates we have to report on, but that won’t be the case for long. Work is still progressing on other projects here and we’re excited to be able to share them with everyone. Until then, we’d love to see all the project you’ve been working on throughout the lockdown. Either share it with us on our Facebook page or use #OxfordWoodRecyling on Twitter and Instagram.
